About MRI Safety Lab

Purpose

MRI Safety Lab helps MR technologists and clinicians quickly and accurately check the MR safety classification and MRI scan conditions of implanted medical devices. It organizes manufacturers' MRI manuals, which differ in format, under one consistent standard to save time during pre-scan screening and support safe scanning.

Data principles

  • Only manufacturers' official, publicly available MRI manuals are used.
  • International editions and the latest revisions take priority.
  • Sections written for radiologists and MR technologists take priority; where sections differ, the more restrictive condition is shown.
  • Every value is checked against the source, and the source document and revision are shown on each page.
  • Only models and combinations identified in the manuals are listed; no values are inferred.

Scope

Currently covers cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), with more manufacturers and device types to be added over time.

Independent site

This site is operated independently by an individual and is not affiliated with or sponsored by the operator's employer, professional societies, or any device manufacturer.
